                      Polyfest 2015
Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, faakalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!!  It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific.  This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!  Part of the celebration is the Polyfest!  This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages.  The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.  Did you know that this event - the Polyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning?  Awesome isn’t it!

This coming thursday, It’s my favourite day of the year is Polyfest, we have polyfest because It’s a traditional pacific thing. Why we do It? because we show everyone how special we our, the winning team gets certificates, trophies, they even get filmed on tv. I said to myself “I can’t wait until I’m on. My whole block, yr7/yr8 are going to polyfest.

"A SURPRISE"

                     “A SURPRISE”
On a rainy day while I was running to school I could see puddles In my way jump to the side. While I made It, the bell rang “bbbbrrrriiinnnggggg”. We went and sat inside our own little street just for year 7/8, my teacher Miss Moala said quietly “It’s Miss Tele's Birthday” then we said “yes  It’s finally her birthday”. Then Mr Wise Men got his guitar, Once Miss Tele’a came everyone started singing happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you happy birthday Miss Tele’a, Mr Wise Men gave her a bottle of wine and a bag of lollies and a cake.

We all started cheering, then we all went to our literacy classes, then started going back to work. While I was listening to my literacy teacher, I heard a song so loud, It sounded like a culture song. My class stand up, my teacher, Miss Peato told our class to go see what was happening, I went and looked at four boys stand up and started dancing to It.

Our whole block went and looked what was going on, then I saw  Mrs Tele’a my next door neighbour, came out and started dancing and It was called a Siva. I thought she was pretty good at dancing. I was surprise, and I thought “I was the only one who felt so surprise”.

Then we went back to our literacy classes again. Then went back to  to our school things.
