Prize giving

Last night we went to prize giving at school. When I just got here everyone look like they were just playing at school. But I didn't care, I just walked inside with my sister. It was 6:45 when I just came. I was looking for my teacher. Finally I found her coming out of the staff room.

Miss King said to me, “Sit down” when I sat down I told my sister to sit on one of these chair. I said to my friend I can’t wait until we get on the stage and some of us have to go on the ground. When Mr Burt said year 5 item we got up just like a normal student. I thought we were the man When we were dancing. man I thought that was hard work.
Finally It was prize time when you go up the stage and get a trophy or lollies. Mr Burt was saying the names for award.

I thought it might be me because everyone said that I was going to get a certificate. Then Mr Burt said my name I got so happy I felt like I wanted to cry, I got on the stage, and I got my certificate . And when I came off the stage my mum and my sister came to put a big lollies.

2012 Manaiakalani Reflection

I really like the test from Pt.England School, because I like it when they nod their head to each other and whenever the teacher looks back they always act normal.
When I even look a tiny bit it makes me laugh so hard I feel like i’m going to explode.

Have you ever been to the Manaiakalani Film Festival? Well I have. It was the best thing I ever been to , because you get to watch great events that all the school share in their movies..
It is always at Hoyts in Sylva Park on the Extreme Screen. It’s cool.

Retell a boy turning into a doll

Skipping down the footpath there was snow flakes dropping down the sky I thought that was cool. I had almost forgotten that it was my birthday. I wrote my name Alma on the whiteboard, like all the kids do in my town. It is tradition on everyone’s tenth birthday.

I looked behind me, and there was a doll that had the same coat as me, and same gloves as me. It was in a shop, a spooky shop . I stared at the other dolls, they looked just like some of my friends who had gone missing.

I thought that it was cool but also a little bit freaky. I ran towards the doll, I wanted to have it but the door was locked. I got mad, made a snowball and threw it towards the door. It didn’t open,  so I walked away. While stamping off, the door creaked open. I quickly came back, and puched the door open wide.

I walked to the doll on the piano I stepped on a doll that was on a bike I made it stand it was going for the door the door locked. It looked like it was trying to escape I looked backed it disappear I looked every where but it wasn't there I looked on the shelves it was there I crowed up the cache. I was reaching so high I touch it's noise ZAP???

I was a doll I tried to move my legs but I couldn't. Not even my body I could only move my eyes.
My breath got heavy.

The dolls were trying to warn me to not touch the doll but I had not listened.

Running down the hills all the way to the park thinking which swing should I go on. The big swing or the little swing he said I want to go on the big swing. But out of nowhere he just push me and got on the swing.

Ha ha ha he said showing off to these girls. He used to come to school but then he was not allowed to come back  for being a bully. His name is jack he always ask for lunch.

If they didn't gave their lunch they will get beaten up in the head. I feel sorry for them, then I talk back after that I get a hiding from him for being a egg. Now i’m going to fight back just for a swing.

“He looked at me and said what are you looking at he said”. I was still looking at him, he got scared and push me off the park and jack said get lost loser BUT it was true, I was a loser at  playing wrestling. “I said get off the swing now” “he said what you going to do about it he laughed”.

”I said I’m going to give you a hiding he got off and said you take it I don’t want it. He Started running away and said ahhh. I thought now i’m strong. Yes i said yes.

Frank at the beach

Hopping into the car I thought about where we should go on a sunny day. When I stared out the window I saw a beautiful beach. “Mummy mummy can we go to the beach? I cried to my mum.

My mum said “OK, but only if you take your brother Mikey.” I said ok  mum then I ran out of the car and burst into the sea. Splash a tsunami came towards me. I yelled, “Out! Get out of the water”.

Mike said “What?” I yelled out “There is a tsunami in your way.” Sadly, the tsunami splashed into him. I ran to him, I saw sharks coming towards him.

I got my knife out and ran towards the sharks. I jumped up as high as I could and jumped on a shark’s back. I stabbed them as much as I could to keep them away from Mikey. The biggest shark of all came towards us.  

I ran up to him and stabbed him in the eye and ripped his eye off. He bit my hand. I got so mad I ran up and ripped his head off. I ran to Mikey and said  “Are you alright?”. He opened his eyes slowly.  

Mikey said “What happen to your arm?” “ I got bit by a shark”.
I replied. My mum yelled out my name “Frank Frank where are you?”

Ninja vs clown

Ninja Ash ran towards his house, when he went inside. His brother Ben wanted some lollies from trick or treat. Ninja Ash yelled no and ran to his mum and cried “Give Ben a hiding.” Mum said “No” and walked away, Ninja Ash hid in the basement Ben heard him hiding in the basement.

Ben was scared when he walked down the steps. Ninja Ash grabbed his knife and stabbed him in the finger and threw the knife at the wall. Ben was afraid and called Ninja Ash who jumped up and frightened him. Ben yelled out “Mummy mummy.” and ran towards the steps and through the door. Ninja won and said i might be a superhero.’’

Jumping off a roof

Along time ago in New Mexico there was a flood, a lot of kids were playing in a flood causing trouble amongst houses and splashing water onto clothes.
There was a kid whose name was Jamain. He climbed up to the very top because his friend dared him to do it. so he jumped off the roof because he wanted to be the man.
He landed on his stomach he tried to get up but he couldn't.  Water was covering his face. His upper body was pounding with pain and couldn't breath that much. A random friend reached out to his hand and took him to his brother Steven Fox.

Steven Fox took him to the hospital because he had been injured. When he opened his eye his mum was so enthusiastic because Jamain was still alive that was good thing.
When they got back  stevens back side was red as superman's cape. After that the flood dried up everyone took the stuff down and put them back where they were. All the kids were bored without a  water anywhere to be seen.

Jamain came back home he was pleased to see his friends and family. his friends

ran and up to jamain and hugged him to heaven.

Farewell Mrs Verry

I was marching down to the hall thinking about something that’s way cooler then the hall because it was always boring. However, when our class walked inside we saw Mrs Verry sitting on this chair. Mrs Verry had grown old since we last saw her. I felt sad when I saw her on this chair.

Sitting down I looked over at her still thinking why was she sitting on that chair. Mr Burt then said hello to Mrs Verry, then he said something about her retiring.

I was going to cry when I  heard him say that she was retiring because she had grown too old.
She is a nice lady, even though sometimes when we got in trouble she would growl. Mr Burt said she was a SUPER  SUPER SUPER GRANNY.

When I saw the girls walking up. They said something that was spichael about her. When they finished talking about her they went up and did a Samoan dance. Far out, what mean    girls presenting that dance for Mrs Verry ay.

I said to myself and to my friends, when they finished I thought that was cool when I heard someone that came out of the blues and just said CHAHOO.

This was the first time that I was almost, going to cry.I thought about it now, I knew why Mrs Verry was on that chair.

50 Words Story

At the Paralympics when Richard finished his race he jumped into the sky waving his flag in the air. He was so filled with happiness when he won his gold medal when he came first. Sadly he has no legs so he runs on prosthetic legs that can jump high.

Tommy Kapai Wilson

Walking down to Tommy Wilson. He is a  really good famous man who writes books that can make  our grumpy smile turns into a happy smile. He traveled everywhere in the globe to have a job and make people smile.


Sitting on our bottom we were so excited to hear his jokes talk that makes us laugh.
And but he said the main thing thats really important to us is war is dumb in the hole why
world his dad was in the world war then he came back  because tommy said war is dumb. Then I thought about it I said to myself that is right because if you can’t stop it
you will end up in your grave.


So then he traveled to america to have a job and make a guy smile how was a famous man how made a ship thats really enormous then a dinosaur. And he has 11 fararooy that's faster then all cars mean aye bro.

Today we practiced re-crafting a piece of writing The first paragraph belongs to Aldora and the second is mine.

I had fun running the whole track with my friends. It was awesome, and most of all it’s fun hearing about your friends achieving their goals. It was an amazing day.

With the crowd cheering and feeling famous I entered into the olympic stadium ready for the 1110m hurdles.waiting on the starting blocks I feel nervous as I know if I lose my whole country will be disappointed. “Take your marks get set go!

Powerfly exploding out of the blocks,I looked at the first hurdle. I hit my lead foot. Crashing to the ground, I grabbed my achilles tendon, it felt painful. Angrily,I sat in my lane, furious with myself.

Hopping out of the stadium. I wanted a way out from the embarrassment. I  was too nervous to go home as everyone will be the track where I kissed, the last hurdle to say goodbye. My friends came to help me. A disappointing end to my olympic dream.

Usain Bolts finals

“Take your marks said the umpire, the 200m sprinting final was about to start.Visulising                                                                                                                         the race, Usain Bolt (yes, it’s him) was ready for anything.

As the gun went off, Usain was blitzing everyone. Swiftly speeding down the track, the naturally gifted athlete was focusing on the finish. The worlds fastest was unbeaten for the 2nd time!

Celebrating his victory Usain did his winning pose. It seems like no-one ever beaten Usain in the last two Olympics. I wonder what his future is? Only time will tell.

Going to Paul

Every Friday we always go to the hall. For important stuffs So as we were marching down the hallway like soldiers, we wondered how today might be different. When we went into the hall we sat down and wait until Mr Burt was going to talk. Then Paul came in and sat down we were singing the New Zealand song. When it was finished Paul came and introduced himself. Then Paul asked Shalom and lisa to come over here because we had won something really special about a movie. We had won the KWN Panasonic competition.

A Big Cross Country

Every day this term we have been practising our cross country at Pt England School. Yesterday was the big day. It was a warm afternoon , and year 5 and six made their way to the courts. Mr Somerville gave us instructions of where we would be running. I listened carefully so that I knew what I needed to do.

We ran all the way to the beach, then past Mr Burt’s house.I felt tired when we jogged along the beach.I ran past Zion at the beach. I was hating every minute because I was so exhausted. My legs ached, I didn’t feel fit. Even though my legs ached I was determined to get to the end.

When I reached the finish line I was relieved and excited. Next time I hope I come first, my goal is to keep up with my  friends. To get fit I will practise at home. Overall, I am proud of
myself for participating in the cross the country.

The Olympic Flame

The Olympic flame was started at the ancient Olympics in Olympia, Greece. Ignited by the sun, the flame burnt until the Olympics were finished.

In Olympia a curved mirror and the sun is used to light the Olympic torch. Women in ancient white robes perform the ceremony. The torch is then passed from runner to runner as it travels from Olympia to the host city.

The most important event at  the opening ceremony  is the lighting of the flame. It burns for two weeks until the games have concluded.

PEPA

Last night there PEPA performed.  They were very good.  I especially enjoyed the Haka that three of the boys performed.  I liked how they did their actions - they were scary.  Thanks PEPA for performing for us.

Snow Day

Catching a snowflake on your tongue feels cold like ice cream. A magical winter wonderland of pristine   whiteness sprinkling over the ground snowflake transform the landscape. Snow is so cold.

Skidding and sliding on the ice a servestrom closed the road. The police have said for people to take care. Schools are closed due to ice and freezing temperature.

Frank Swimming

We were going to the pool, “Cool” I said to Jordan.
Then when we got there we got changed into our togs
Some people shoved into the shower. “Hurry up” I said to the boys  

When i was finished I hopped into the pool “it’s cold” I said to my friend. “Just wait it will get warm.” Ben shouted loudly “GO swim over there and come back” I rushed all the way to the end.

My eyes were red when I looked at Jordan, he looked like a mermaid  swimming down the pool.
Who cares about him? I can win this! Sadly he won. I got angry so bad.   

Art Work

Gluing the crayons on a car board we had to use a glue gun to stick hardened. While my partner was still glueing the crayons. My other partner painted the stencil onto the canvas.

On top of the canvas we sellotape the carebord. Melting the crayons was the next step.
Carefully we lend the canvas agent on the wall.
Hot air from the hair dryer caused the crayons melting to the canvas.tripling down the canvas the blended colours created are intristiattensng textwe.

Meet The Ghost pipfish

The Ornate Ghost Pipefish or Solenostomus paradoxus is one of the hardest fish to spot in the ocean.  First of all they are relatively small, only growing to about 12cm in maximum length.  This gostogether with the fact that their bodies look more like coral or seaweed than an actual saltwater fish, makes them a master of ghost pipfish.

Starting a Monday with a movie Room 13 all watched exciting experiment using a paper strip. Can we have a go? Quickly Miss King got all the epuipment organised.
First we folded our paper with a half twist and joined the ends with sellotap. We cut our paper we long ways. Wondening what would happen, we all held our breath. Magicaly, our expeiment worked Mobius strip are so intriging.

Kayaking at Camp

The respecteblez were going kayaking. When we got there Mr Burt was there. He told us the instructions, when he was finished we hopped into the kayak. The waves were crashing towards the boat and I capsized. Boom! The kayak was on top of me. Mr Malloy was rushing towards me telling me to hop back on the kayak. Mr Malloy grabbed my hand and he pulled me up. I felt relieved. When I got on Mr Malloy’s boat I felt cold.

Dr Ben Carsen

Driving along in a stinky bus Pt England were off to the Tetstra clear Pacific Events Center to listen to Dr Ben Carsen. As a part of Duffy lots of kids got to hear his missage. Reading helped him became rich famous.
Dr Ben carsen is the words best neruro surgeon. At school he thought he was the dummy but his mum taught him how to belive in himself. By making some thing of his life and taking charge he turned his life around and was the first surgeon to separate con joined twins.
Dr Carson is an exceptional man.

Picnic

Pt.England were going to the beach for fun. ”Wow!” I said to my self.

Playing on the beach is always fun. With my friends, we buried each other like mummies. Sand got in my ear. I laughed. My friends threw a little sand in my eyes. “Ouch” I said to my friends “What was that for?”

New Furniture

Surprise of all surprises, Room 13’s new furniture arrived on time. Sitting at our new tables and relaxing on our “steps” is heaps of fun. Thanks to Mr Burt and Mr Burt for getting our new furniture.

In a busy market in china this perfect old man pored the malted sugar on to a piece of non - stick paper.He was drawing a dragon.   Lifting the dragon carefully with a kuife he gare it the happy little boy.

The Deadly Hippos

As the tourists enjoy the morning boat ride,they were unaware of the danger in the water below.
Powerfully,the engine roared as the small boat sped off for safety. Protecting their babies, the hippos chased the tourists away.

The Beach

My family and friends  were going to the  beach just for fun.  Waves crashed towards us. Running away  from the waves, we heard them crash BOOM!  It went   BOOM!  There It goes again. “Ah ah ah  ah ah ah ah!”  We got caught by the big waves.I jumped In to the waves SPLASH It went I got cold.
We snuggled in  to the sand. Suddenly my tummy rumbled, I found my mum and all us hungry kids went home to eat.

My Holiday

Me and my family went to  the wharf  me and my brother jump so high and then we dived just like a dolphin. It felt so warm and I enjoyed it.
